COVID-19 Response

We appreciate your patience as we work through what is going to be best and safest for the families and kids we serve, our staff, and the community during this time. We will be closely monitoring the recommendations of the CDC and will adjust accordingly as needed. We will make sure that we have updated information posted on the website and our social media as things progress. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns at info@achildshopespokane.org.

Office hours and meetings: We will be closing the office at least until the week of April 27th. This means that any meeting that would typically be held at the office, will now be held via an online option. We have the capability to host Zoom calls so we will be utilizing this tool as needed.

Home Studies/Licensing: We will continue to license new families, provide home study updates, and attend any necessary home visits involved in a foster family making changes to their home (ie. move, modifying licenses, etc.). We will be holding a Zoom call as an alternative to the in-person Intro Class that was scheduled for April 23 and in the coming weeks we will be contacting those who were registered with those details. Also, we plan on continuing to accept placement referrals from Homefinders at DCYF.

Trainings: The next TBRI Training that was scheduled for March 30th has been cancelled but we are waiting for approval from the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development to still provide an online option for this training.   Stay tuned for more details on how this will look over the coming weeks. The next What Comes Next training is scheduled for mid-May and at this time, we are hoping to still hold this training in person. We will adjust as necessary.

Support: The Empowered to Connect Conference was also postponed to May 15 and 16 so if you were not able to go to the March dates, here is an opportunity to get more knowledge on TBRI and Parenting! The link to register is on our website and our Facebook.

Fundraisers: Sadly, with so much unknown, we have made the decision to cancel the Walk for HOPE Bloomsday fundraiser this year. We are looking forward to having more time to plan for next year and hope that many of you will join the Walk for HOPE in 2021! The Noonday Jewelry Benefit party is also going to be postponed until later in the year with the new date to be determined.

We Celebrate The Adoption Journey

A Child’s Hope Spokane is a non-profit, licensed child placement agency providing no-fee adoption services to Christian families in Spokane County.  At  A Child’s Hope, we are committed to serving our families in all stages of the adoption journey. From our first step (introduction class) to the last (adoption finalization) – and beyond – we work hard to support our families, understanding that a significant part of our role is to support them in ministry.

Help us fill A Child’s Hope Spokane Family Closet

The closet is a place where families who are in the process of being licensed can “shop” for items to prepare for the foster care licensing. We also want to continue gifting great books to all of our families and have these resources listed on our Wish List as well.
